We are here!

(These pictures were taken in Budapest and are of us on one of the famous bridges going over the Danube and of the royal castle-museum)
So we made it to Dubrovnik after a short stint in Budapest. Our flight to Budapest was delayed by three hours and then we had to wait about 7 to get on the next flight to Croatia. But it was well worth it. It is absolutely gorgeous here and the people are so nice. We have found though that our American math skills are a bit lacking when it comes to figuring out how much we actually are paying for things using the Hungarian HUF and the kuna here in Croatia. We figure we have either given people the best tips they have ever seen or we have only left what equals about 8 cents. It has been a fantastic experience so far and it is sure to just get better.
The food is great, we had pizza today. No diet coke but rather Coca Cola light. All of the soda, Gatorade, etc. bottles are much smaller to fit the smaller fridges. Something we think is kinda neat.
The weather is beautiful... sunny skies and a bit of a breeze. But it is pretty hot too. We are waiting for Katie and Stef to arrive via Manchester so we spent the day on the beach. Beaches around the city are not sand though but rather large pebbles. Good thing we were able to rent beach chairs at one of the hotels.
Katie and Stef should be here in about an hour or so and then who knows... we will likely end up at some club. Last night we met some guys from Norway, one of which had a very vocal opinion about Bush and American politics. But he was hilarious... we laughed a lot with them but that might have been the 20 ounce Croatian beers we were drinking and the fact that we had not slept at that point in about 30 some odd hours. The word delirious comes to mind. So far the people have been wonderful and we are noticing a lot of German and Italian accents. Must be the proximity.
So we have experienced a Croatian ATM... that was fun... try taking out money at an ATM using the Spanish screens... you will know what we mean (but it did have English prompts but was still funny) ... along with a local supermarket called Kerum. It is right across the way so it is convenient to our hostel.
Right now we are using the hostel owners business computer to check a few emails and to update our blog... the keyboard is really weird with missing symbols and letters in different places than we are used to (notice no contractions and limited punctuation, because i cannot find the apostrophe on this keyboard). We cannot upload pictures from here but we are going to try to find an internet cafe to do so. So stay tuned and have a great weekend!

This is so great! I love that you're giving updates. I was cracking up reading this one. Keep these up so I know you're alive and well.
Tell the Norwegian we don't care what he thinks about Bush or American politics. Then ask him how the "whaling" in his country is going? thanks much.
